The superior physician helps before the early budding of the disease.
The inferior physician begins to help when the disease has already developed,
when destruction has already set in.- Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, 2697 B.C.
There is an ancient Chinese saying, “You can treat the leaves or you can treat the roots.” Holistic methods focus on the root of one’s symptoms rather than only on the ‘leaves’ or symptoms themselves. As a result, the healing goes to one’s core so that the troubled ‘roots’ do not continually manifest distress and become diseased. Healers are trained to read the subtle signs of distress that precede manifest disease.
At Circle of One, we offer a comprehensive therapeutic program incorporating multiple holistic modalities in a treatment plan that is designed to meet your specific needs and concerns. Healing sessions incorporate the ‘three legs of the stool’ of traditional medicine – subtle energy healing, manual therapies, and herbal medicine (including food and nutritional evaluation). Additionally, body-mind practices such as meditation, qigong, and yoga may be recommended to address your specific challenges. One of the richest dimensions of the treatment experience is the development of one’s sensitivity to perceive tensions in the body that can potentially lead to illness, and then subsequently release these tensions. In time, one is attuned to their innate body wisdom. The natural result is health.
At Circle of One, we work with all ages and are particularly committed to serving newborns up through adolescents, especially those in challenging circumstances, such as psycho-emotional trauma and developmental delays. And we welcome all regardless of their financial or other circumstances.
We also offer programs in personal development for those who wish to be proactive in taking care of themselves. This is a great opportunity to take what one learns in their personal healing sessions by engaging in a regular practice with other committed students.
